Beautiful Family

Fall is so beautiful here in Boise. It's one of my favorite times to photograph families. It's even better when I get to photograph a beautiful family as well. These children were the most well behaved children I have ever met. They are sweet, funny and were very patient. Even their dog was well behaved! Fantastic session.

From a Good Home

I come from a good home. I have two sisters who are selfless and beautiful inside and out, and I have parents who are godly, patient and full of wisdom. My family encourages me when I'm frustrated, they pray for me when I'm down and laugh along with me in our many, many, good times. I never want to take them for granted, our times together are short and precious. They have all set the example that I want to follow and pass on to my children. That is a precious legacy and I love that I have beautiful portraits of all of them to mark this legacy with. Love your families in their perfect and un-perfectness, it is so worth it.

Happy Birthday Amaris!

Today is my niece's second birthday. She is the sweetest and most lovable little girl in the world. This summer we had a blast with her, laughing, playing, dressing up like fairy princess', and getting to know each other better. The best part about being an auntie is that I get to teach her things like how to act like a lady. As you can see by the last two images, I've had a wonderful influence on her. I love you Amaris and I miss your sweet hugs and kisses. Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

My gorgeous step-daughter

Summertime always takes us up north to our "Home and Native Land," Canada, to visit our families. Spending time with my gorgeous 24 year old step-daughter is always a highlight of our trip. This year I was privileged to capture these beautiful portraits of Kristina with her dog, Molly, along with some updated family and sibling portraits. I am so blessed to have Kristi in my life and I love her dearly.

A Tribute To My Dear Friend

Six years ago my dearest friend went through one of the most painful times in her life. Her first born son, William, was born into heaven. My friend Amy is one of the most sweetest, kindest, Godliest women I have ever had the priviledge to know. When I first started in photography, she let me bumble, stumble, and practise on her three precious sons and these are some of my favorite portraits we took of them all. My favorite one of Amy has her holding the teddy bear that was to be Williams and we incorporated that bear in every one of their family portraits ever since. I miss my dear friend who has since moved away, but our friendship has the stuff that will keep us friends forever. I honor you today Amy, mother of 4 sons. You are blessed!

My Story

Ever since I was a little girl, my dream was to grow up to be a mama. I was the teenage girl who babysat every weekend and just loved every one's kids. I even had a couple of jobs being a nanny. August 15, 1991 my dreams finally came true with the birth of our first son. Having suffered a miscarriage before, our son's birth was a huge celebration for us as was our second son's birth May 14, 1993 and our daughter's, July 7th, 1995. Being a mother to these three children has been the greatest blessing God could ever give me and every Mothers Day, I try to get a photograph of all of us together. This particular photo, Mothers Day 1997, is one of my favorites because it shows me with all of my children. I was pregnant with our fourth child here, a tiny little boy named Zane, who sadly didn't live past 4 months of pregnancy. My passion for newborn photography and maternity portraiture stems from the emotions I have experienced and still experience from being Colten, Brody, Laressa and Zane's mother. It is so important to me that our lives are documented by photos and portraits because these are indeed amazing moments of our life. Big Brother Jack

Ruby's big brother Jack has just turned two so we were so honored to take his two year old portraits. Having a new baby sister is serious business for Jack and we worked hard to get that adorable smile out of him. Bubbles didn't work so Daddy held up something of great value to Jack, shhhhh... it's a secret. But it got Jack to give us wonderful smiles.

Precious Princess'

What an absolute joy it was to photograph these beautiful princess'. We has so much fun playing dress up and dancing around the studio, we did not want it to end. The delightful spirit of these girls lingered with me for days after. Oh to be young and carefree again!
